Covid 19 Update – Your Booking & Unlock 2.12.20, Tier System & Christmas 2020

We now have very detailed HMGov Guidance on how we must operate after the Unlock on 2nd December 2020.

Mill Meadow will be in Tier 2, with all tiers subject to a review on 16th December 2020.

Our Covid Secure processes are ongoing including Disinfection Fogging of all accommodation between guests.

There is a good amount of information below, please ensure that you check your existing booking to ensure compliance with the guidance and before making a new booking as we are required by law to check full compliance for all bookings.

Your Booking and the Tier System

HMGov have clarified the requirements under each Tier and have indicated that it is likely that these will remain in place until Easter 2021.

With that in mind we encourage guests not to speculate and make bookings for visits before Easter 2021 until they have carefully considered their current and potential future circumstances up to Easter 2021.

If the Booking Guest is in Tier 1 and 2 and not subject to any isolation directive then on the assumption Mill Meadow is in Tier 1 or 2 the booking can go ahead albeit the Rule of 6 for Tier 1 and the Single Household rule for Tier 2 will apply to Mill Meadow. (As at 26.11.20 Mill Meadow is in Tier 2).

Guests within all booking groups are individually subject to the HMGov Tier system and for that reason where the Rule of 6 applies each Guest within a party will continue to be required to declare their home postal code at the time of booking so that an initial check can be completed.

In addition all guests will continue to be required to complete and return an individual Covid Declaration within 7 days of our confirmation of the booking the prior to arrival whichever is sooner.

This will enable us to check compliance i.e. confirm mixed household groups are all from within Tier 1 areas etc.

Can I travel for tourism?

Ref: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/local-restriction-tiers-what-you-need-to-know#medium-alert

If you live in a tier 1 area and travel to an area in a higher tier you should follow the rules for that area while you are there. Avoid travel to or overnight stays in tier 3 areas other than where necessary, such as for work, education, youth services, to receive medical treatment, or because of caring responsibilities. You can travel through a tier 3 area as part of a longer journey

Tier 1 rules:

  • Guests from a Tier 1 area can travel to Tier 1 and 2 but must observe rules of the Tiering for the destination:
  • you must not socialise in groups larger than 6 people, indoors or outdoors, other than where a legal exemption applies.  This is called the ‘rule of 6’

Tier 2 rules:

  •  you must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place you must not socialise in a group of more than 6 people outside, including in a garden or a public space – this is called the ‘rule of 6’

If you live in a tier 2 area, you must continue to follow tier 2 rules when you travel to a tier 1 area. Avoid travel to or overnight stays in tier 3 areas other than where necessary, such as for work, education, youth services, to receive medical treatment, or because of caring responsibilities. You can travel through a tier 3 area as a part of a longer journey

Guests from a Tier 2 area can travel to Tier 1 and 2 but must observe Tier 2 rules:

  •  you must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place
  • you must not socialise in a group of more than 6 people outside, including in a garden or a public space – this is called the ‘rule of 6’

If you live in a tier 3 area avoid travelling to other parts of the UK, including for overnight stays other than where necessary, such as for work, education, youth services, to receive medical treatment, or because of caring responsibilities. You can travel through other areas as part of a longer journey

  • Guests should not travel for tourism only for one of the scheduled essential needs

We recognise that some scenarios will be out of the control of the Booking Guest and so have prepared the following with that in mind:

A Booking Guest who is subject to a Self Isolation directive from Test and Trace at the time of the booking has the following options:

  • Amend the booking to show a designated Lead Guest so that the booking can go ahead under that new Lead Guest.
  • Rebook for a future date with no admin charges
  • Cancel and receive a full refund

A Booking Guest with a Rule of 6 Guest group who moves from Tier 1 into Tier 2 at the time of their stay with us has the following options:

  • Amend the booking to show a designated Lead Guest who is in Tier 1 along with all other guests
  • Amend the guest list to a Single Household in line with HMGov Tier 2 requirements.
  • Cancel the booking at which point we can endeavour to rebook the dates in accordance with our normal Terms and Conditions (to read click here)
  • Rebook for a future date with no admin charges

A Booking Guest who moves into Tier 3 at the time of their stay with us has the following options:

  • Cancel and receive a full refund.
