The Quantock Hills – Natural Landscape Area) are just a 15 minute drive from your lodge at Mill Meadow, the hills are a fantastic destination for outdoor enthusiasts, dog walkers and nature lovers for lots of reasons.
The Quantocks Hills are a perfect combination of natural beauty, history, and outdoor adventure! and in 1956 were designated England’s first area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB)
Scenic Beauty: The Quantocks offer stunning landscapes, with rolling hills, heathland, ancient woodlands, and panoramic views over the Bristol Channel. Whether you’re hiking/walking, mountain biking or simply exploring, the area is incredibly picturesque.
Rich Wildlife: The area is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including red deer, wild ponies, fox stoats, various bird species, lizards, slow worms and adders. In the summer you may hear cuckoos and nighjars but not always see them. The habitats range from heathland to woodlands, making it a great place for nature watching.

We need to remind you that it is a legal requirement from 1st March to 31st July to keep all dogs on a short lead in open access land to protect the ewes and lambs and prevent your dogs from disturbing nesting birds.
