Pilates & Yoga Retreats

Pilates and yoga are great low-impact activities. They focus on improving your balance and core strength. Generally, these activities are accessible to everyone no matter your age or ability. Tai chi, Pilates and yoga provide great health benefits.

Yoga focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. There’s some evidence that regular yoga practice helps people with high blood pressure, heart disease, aches and pains (including lower back pain), depression and stress.

Your Yoga Teachers - Lucy & Penny

I trained in the traditional style of Hatha Yoga, which includes the accent system of Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation. She is also certified Pre & Postnatal teacher.

My personal passions lie in working with the nervous system to improve your personal resilience, to decrease discomfort, stress & physically to improve your bodies mobility, flexibility & strength.

I teach; Vinyasa, Restorative & Prenatal yoga classes. All aimed to bring lightness, brightness and compassion to an ever changing and ever demanding world!

I can teach beginners, intermediate and equally experienced Yogis, depending on confidence, strength & capability.

I have been practicing yoga for 20 years.I have trained with Sadhana Mala, including their Art of Yoga training and their Art of Individual teaching and Yoga Therapy (AIT): more recently Ante natal yoga and active birth training.

The approach has provided me with an exceptional opportunity to both develop my own practice and knowledge but to also delve into the wisdom of the ancient texts. There is nothing more satisfying than passing these ideas on to individuals within my group classes and individual sessions.

I have a keen interest in Ayurveda, having studied – The Art of Living – with Ann Johnson for two years. This looks at lifestyle and diet. I am continuing to develop my knowledge in order to share these principles with others.

The prospect of teaching Ante natal yoga for pregnant mums is very exciting for me. This yoga approach is gentle, safe and supportive: perfect for their needs during the second and third trimesters.

Penny is so good at building trust, expressing empathy and instilling calm and I would recommend her ante natal yoga sessions to mummy’s to be.

-

I was a yoga beginner, and a bit hesitant about starting yoga sessions. However, after just one session I recognised that my body felt good, and I felt more relaxed.

-

I come away from her (Penny)sessions feeling like I've learned to breathe again. I recommend her classes, whatever your starting point. .
