Ding Dong The Bells Are Back

The recently restored bells of The Church of St Mary in our village are back and with perfect timing as we welcome Alison and her 20 strong group of bellringers to Mill Meadow.

The ever-growing group have come together annually over the past 29 years from all across England, Wales and the Republic of Ireland to share their common passion and to visit village churches across the countryside ringing out the sound of joyful bells.

We were privileged to enjoy the results of their combined skills when they gathered in our 15th century church tower.

Somerset villages are home to some of the most beautiful churches to be found and there is nothing more mindful than sitting quietly as local enthusiasts practice their art.

Below are some very local villages with beautiful churches, and lots more, to visit;
St Mary’s, Kingston St Mary
The Blessed Virgin Mary, Cheddon Fiztpaine
St Thomas of Canterbury, Cothelstone
St Mary’s, Bishops Lydeard
St Michael, Enmore
St Mary with St Leonard, Broomfield

To hear the bell’s click to hear for yourself.
