Personal Best!

Healthy 17lb Common Carp

The fishing experience at Mill Meadow has been the best yet will coach Martin successfully introducing guests to the pleasures and technical skills involved.

A newly arrived first time guest and keen carp fisherman shared his first day Mill Meadow experience exceeding his 10 year best:

Thought I’d let you both know. Our Flycatcher lodge is an awesome amazing place, suiting all our needs and more. This will be very highly recommended indeed.
So this morning I fished the lake/pond at around 9am, upon going through the gate, I headed to the far left swim. A lovely view. I looked to the margin left going all the way up the lake where no one fishes. I explored this area. First cast on two rods. First Rod to the right on far bank ripped off after 40 mins. Producing a mirror carp of 8lbs. Then 20 mins later my left Rod ripped off from my buzzer at a rate of knots. A hard and energetic fight produced a 17lb dead on common carp. The fish was deep bodied and very broad. I nearly kissed the monster.
This beat my previous personal best 16.6lb in 2008.
I didn’t expect much, but after nearly 2 hours fishing, I got a fish on both rods. And I’ve got a personnel best. Fish were immaculate condition.
From Darren, a very happy fisherman

We take good care of our fish, and other wildlife, and appreciate the same caring approach that has taken by all guests this season.
Thanks also to coach Martin for helping guests to learn the right way to enjoy fishing!
