Small but Mighty! Spotlight on Goldcrest Lodge

Good things come in small packages

Perfectly proportioned in every way, Goldcrest is the smallest of our Lodges here at Mill Meadow. It was named by one of our guests after the UK’s smallest bird. Like our Lodge, the real Goldcrest is a tiny green and gray bird, and so Goldcrest Lodge became a member of our avian themed properties.

What to expect at Goldcrest Lodge

Goldcrest Lodge has space for two adult guests, an infant and a furry friend! (Dog surcharge applies) Small but with plenty to offer its residents, Goldcrest is the perfect Lodge for an intimate getaway in the heart of the Quantock Hills, surrounded by nature and with everything you need right at hand (literally!)

Upon entering through the oak door you will find yourself in the spacious bedroom/living room with its sumptuous Extra King bed (1.95m/6’3″ long!), which can also be prepared as two generous single beds (3’0″ wide). There is a Freesat TV, Fibre Broadband Wi-Fi and board games. Meals can be taken at the drop-leaf table or on the covered porch.

Off the main room there is a fully equipped kitchen, which has a double electric oven with hob, separate compact microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, with small freezer section, washer drier and all the essential utensils.

The en-suite shower room has a spacious shower, WC, electric heated towel rail, hand basin and an illuminated mirror with shaver socket.

At the front of the lodge, the covered porch is perfect for sitting out in all weathers offering shelter and shade. There is ample space round the lodge to enjoy outdoor living, with additional seating and a BBQ, which comes with a pack of charcoal for you to use during your stay.

The cosy private hot tub is included free of charge, the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day!

Goldcrest Lodge caters for the outdoor lover with cycle storage and wash down station for both bikes and four-legged friends.

Things to do in Somerset

Somerset is known for its excellent pubs and restaurants as well as its rich history and stunning natural beauty. Explore local cider farms, heritage sites such as Taunton Castle, or hike across the Quantocks. Somerset really does have something for everyone.

We have plenty of activities on site at Mill Meadow and close by too, if you want to just kick back and relax. You can see our list of the most popular things to do in Somerset here, which includes fishing in our private lake, outdoor yoga, cycling and more.

Who is Goldcrest Lodge suitable for?

With its cosy and intimate setting, we think that Goldcrest Lodge is the perfect romantic bolthole for couples on a UK honeymoon. It would also be ideal for those on a babymoon, to spend some quiet time in nature before your little one is born. Goldcrest Lodge can also accommodate an infant, so baby’s first holiday in Somerset can be in the peaceful South West countryside. Goldcrest is dog friendly too, so why not bring your four legged friend?
