Mill Meadow is the perfect place to celebrate your big day…
We stayed at Mill Meadow the weekend of our wedding, hiring 5 lodges for our family and wedding party to use as a perfect base for our summer wedding at Hestercombe Gardens. Our experience was amazing from the moment we booked to the moment we left. Suzanne spent time ahead of our wedding weekend planning our stay and ensuring we had everything needed for a smooth run-up to the wedding, including ensuring the girls had enough mirrors the morning of the wedding! We were so lucky with the weather meaning we made the most of the gorgeous gardens and lake at Mill Meadow. The hot tubs were a perfect way to relax the day before and the day after the wedding and each lodge was spotless and well equipped. All our friends and family had the most amazing time during their stay and Chris and Suzanne were superb hosts, being attentive, friendly, and helpful, they really made us feel welcome and made our weekend unforgettable. We would highly recommend Mill Meadow for any occasion big or small.
Mill Meadow is such a beautiful calm place to stay for some time out. We booked our stay over a year before our wedding as we knew it would be like a mini holiday if we were to stay there. We asked our closest friends and family to stay with us across the 3 days and everyone said about how much they enjoyed staying there and not a single person wanted to leave. Flycatcher was a beautiful lodge and had so much about it. I stayed there the night before my wedding with my best girl friends and we got ready in the dining area the next day which was perfect due to the stunning window wall feature that let every bit of light in! The facilities in the lodge were incredible and we couldn't have asked for more. We are all already discussing about planning another trip up to Mill Meadow and enjoying a few days away. For somewhere so close to home for us, you feel like you are in paradise and couldn't be further away from regular life! A huge thank you to Suzanne for being so friendly and for going to extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
Suzanne was amazing looking after our booking and queries before our trip and she was marvellous whilst we were staying. She took great care to ensure our daughter’s wedding day went without hitch and even helped take photos and waved us off to the wedding. Suzanne and Chris are very efficient and kind attentive hosts.

To be able to enjoy a bbq and jacuzzi on the decking was a highlight for us, whilst the opportunity to fish with the children in your well stocked lake the following day was memorable for both me and the children as we also caught two fish! Your lodges were most certainly exceptional and exceeded all our families expectations. Thank you for ensuring that we had a memorable and comfortable 3 days.”
It was a pleasure to spend a few days at Mill Meadow and we would like to say thank you so much to all of the Mill Meadow team who were involved in ensuring that our stay was so enjoyable. It definitely helped to make Danielle and Luke’s wedding such a truly fabulous and memorable occasion. The lodges are such gorgeous, spacious surroundings and yet have everything you need to make you feel totally at home. Having our family and all the bridesmaids together to get ready for the ceremony and Luke’s family and other extended family close by in other lodges was just so special we will never forget it and would recommend it to anybody who was thinking of doing something similar.

“Beautiful lodges with excellent facilities. Made to feel completely at home with everything you would ever need and a few extra treats. Mill Meadow couldn’t do enough for us and were on call for all our needs and made us feel incredibly at home. We stayed here for our wedding and it really was the perfect end to a perfect weekend. “Perfect place for the brides family to prepare for the BIG DAY at Hestercombe Gardens. Ideally situated for the shire horse carriage to collect the bride’s entourage and ride to Hestercombe. Beautiful place for first photos. Chris and Suzanne were both wonderful and welcoming. We had a wonderful time, thank you!”
We absolutely loved staying in Robins Lodge for our wedding at Hestercombe Gardens. The lodges are so gorgeous and spacious, it meant we could stay with the bridal party with my family in another lodge close by. We loved the design of the lodges , and the balcony overlooking the lake is so calming. Mill Meadows were also incredibly thoughtful, leaving bubbly for me and my fiancé on arrival and again on the wedding night with ‘just married’ bunting hung up on the outside of the lodge for us to find on our return. We also enjoyed the BBQ and Hot Tub. I’d fully recommend starting marrying life in a hot tub.
This small estate of eco homes was recommended by Hestercombe Gardens in their wedding brochure and we visited it on the same day as Hestercombe and booked six lodges almost immediately. Mill Meadow provided us with separate homes for both families plus homes for "the boys" and "the girls" and two more for various friends, giving us each a degree of independence but close proximity. There was a great deal of coming and going leading up to the wedding day, and even more after the wedding when we all stayed for New Years Eve! Flycatcher was easily large enough for all our guests to party on that night. Flycatcher was perfect for us: spotlessly clean, well equipped (though a tea cosy and oven gloves would have suited the purists!), spacious, comfortable and especially airy with the double height living area. We loved the hot tub and made frequent use of it. Susanna and Helen were welcoming and informative, and Chris was diligent and cheerful in his care of the hot tubs. We were touched that a "Just Married" banner was attached to Robins on the wedding day for our bride and groom to see on their return. We fully expect to return with all the family. Thank you, Mill Meadow, for providing the perfect accommodation for the wedding!
