Mill Meadow

Mill Meadow is a family run business, we are not volume builders, and build quality log homes to a high standard and to order.

Occasionally a completed lodge may become available and in such circumstances all negotiations will need to be made direct with the owner.

Are Mill Meadow Lodges & Plots Freehold or Leasehold?

The lodges sit on Freehold plots so there are no leasehold charges.


Are there restrictions on how and when I can occupy a Mill Meadow Lodge?

Mill Meadow lodges are able to remain open year round.

The lodges are available for tourism and not as a “sole or main place of permanent residence.”

However prospective owners should take appropriate independent advice on their own circumstances.

How is Mill Meadow managed?

The site is managed by Mill Meadow (Taunton) Management Co Limited which attends to the upkeep and care of shared areas, services and the main access roads.

Owners are responsible for the upkeep of the lodge and the extent of the freehold title that it sits within. This can be contracted to the onsite manager by agreement if preferred.

There is a resident manager and a callout/emergency service available.



Are there management company charges?

Each property contributes to the management company costs through an Estimated Service Charge which is calculated annually.

For 2023/24 the ESC is £1800 per annum.

In addition an Additional Estimated Service Charge may apply if expenses arise that are not within the ESC budget.

If I buy a plot are there restrictions on what I can build?

What is built and how it looks are governed by the Planning Consent issued by the Local Planning Authority (LPA), Somerset County Council, Taunton Deane Area.

Any changes to design and or appearance will require prior approval of the LPA.

There are three approved designs available for Plots 1 – 13.
